This is a fantastic shirt for men or women through many eras. The cotton is a great woven nubby natural cotton, which is gathered at the chest and shoulder. This is an excellent shirt for women, or for wearing under a vest, as the gathering gives it extra space in the chest and waist without making the shoulders unnecessarily bulky.
These shirts are cut very! generously, but the sleeves run short- they're very full and can be worn belted, but probably not appropriate for slender women, or very tall guys. Check the measurements before ordering

Please note-costume industry standards give women's costume sizes based on Junior size measurements. In addition, most of these costumes are manufactured overseas, in short, they tend to run small. This means that if you wear a size 22 in Women's clothing, you will not likely fit a size 22 costume. This is one of the most universally flattering shirts that we carry, it's well made, fits well, and looks great on a wide variety of body types. Shirt has a lace up front with sewn holes instead of the metal grommets that eventually pull out. Front has a slight gathering at shoulders for extra fabric without extra bulk for wearing with vests and jackets. Sleeves are gathered at the shoulder, with coconut button cuffs, the back is tailored with a yolk and the collar is fitted with no gathers.
The natural color is a heavier weight hand-loomed cotton, the other colors are lighter shirt-weight fabric.

This is the staple of every ladie's faire wardrobe, a super comfortable, lightweight short chemise. Made of all cotton, cut just at the hips so that it can be tucked into a skirt and worn with a bodice without adding any extra sweaty layers- or worn with a pair of knee breeches and sash for a more feminine working sailor look. Elastic short sleeves with small ruffle, drawstring neckline can be worn on or off the shoulder.
Sizes are fairly generous- order your usual size or one size down since having it too full won't be an issue.
